Sandstar case study series – SPRINT

SPRINT is the SPace Research and Innovation Network for Technology, a unique partnership of top UK space universities, industry, government agencies and the investment community dedicated to supporting the growth of small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK through the commercial exploitation of space data and technologies.

Sandstar Communications has been working on an integrated, national marketing communications campaign for SPRINT, alongside the five UK partner universities, a growing base of small businesses signed up to the programme and national space/funding collaborative partners, to raise awareness and grow the network through:

  • PR activity
  • Social media updates (LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Event support
  • E-communications
  • Website content
  • Marketing materials (booklet and merchandise)
  • Regular content – blogs and case studies

Ross Burgon, Head of the national SPRINT programme said:

“We selected Sandstar from a competitive tender process to provide strategic marketing and operational communications for the roll-out of the three-year SPRINT programme. They’re now an integral and trusted part of our management team and work seamlessly alongside our network of UK Innovation Advisers, university academics and their respective communications teams, businesses signed up to the SPRINT programme, external design and web agencies, and space industry and funding partner organisations.

Sandstar’s support and expertise has helped us to grow the programme significantly, raising awareness of the strategic benefits and opportunities of SPRINT and promoting our successes to key press and media, business prospects and stakeholders.
